RTPM, or real time prescription monitoring, is an electronic system designed to track the dispensing of high-risk medications in real time, aiding healthcare providers in preventing drug misuse. With the RxPad Enterprise 1.0 update this is now available for all users.
Turn it on
Open Settings → Prescriber Profile.
Tick Enable RTPM.
Confirm that you must complete your individual National Data Exchange (NDE) registration before RTPM will return results.
How results appear
RTPM runs automatically when you click Submit – you will briefly see an RTPM Check indicator. Results only appear when a record is found. If nothing shows, no record was found – it does not mean RTPM is broken (there is no green “all clear” flag).
Note: RTPM needs three things to return a result: it is enabled in your Prescriber Profile, your individual NDE registration is complete, and the medication is a scheduled (controlled) item. It is silent for unscheduled medicines.
