How to re-send, cancel, cease, or renew a prescription?

To view or make changes to an issued prescription, go to the 'Manage Prescriptions' tab.

To view or change a prescription you have already issued, go to Manage Prescriptions, find the script, and click the gear icon in the Actions column. You will see these options:

  • View Prescription – opens a new tab showing the prescription as the patient sees it.

  • Re-Send Prescription – if the patient lost or deleted the SMS / email, this re-sends the same token. It does not use a repeat or create a new script, and can be done as often as needed until the script is dispensed, cancelled or ceased.

  • Cancel Prescription – available only before the script is dispensed. It invalidates the token immediately so no pharmacy can dispense it. The status changes to Cancelled.

  • Cease Prescription – used when the script has repeats and at least one has already been dispensed. It blocks the remaining repeats while past dispenses stay in the patient’s history.

  • Renew Script – for a returning patient who needs the same medication again. The New Prescription page opens pre-filled; check the details and click Submit to send a fresh script.

Note: Use Cancel before any dispensing; use Cease once a repeat has been dispensed. Re-sending does not change the number of repeats.
