How to reissue, cancel, or cease a prescription?

To view or make changes to an issued prescription, go to the 'Manage Prescriptions' tab.

Click on the icon in the 'Actions' column to manage the prescription. From here, you have the following options:

  • View Prescription: Opens a new tab displaying the prescription as the patient sees it.

  • Cancel Prescription: If the prescription has not been dispensed, you can cancel it, which immediately invalidates the token used by pharmacies to verify it.

  • Cease Prescription: If the prescription has multiple repeats and at least one has already been dispensed, you cannot cancel it. However, you can choose to 'Cease' the prescription to prevent further repeats.

  • Re-Issue Prescription: If the patient has lost or deleted the email/SMS containing the prescription, or didn’t receive it, you can click 'Re-Issue' to resend the token.

Note: Re-issuing a prescription does not affect the number of repeats; it simply regenerates the token for the original prescription.
