What is multi-script prescribing?

Written by Kai Becker

For E-prescriptions every prescription contains exactly one medication.

Multi-script lets you write more than one prescription for the same patient in a single visit, before submitting. Each one is sent to eRx as its own script and uses one token.

Available on: Pro, Team Starter and Team Pro. (The Lite plan does not include multi-script.)

How to write multiple scripts

  1. Compose the first medication as you normally would (patient, medication, pack detail, type, delivery).

  2. In the Prescription Summary, click + Add Medication. A new tab (Medication 2) opens.

  3. Select and configure the next medication. Repeat for as many medications as you need – there is no hard limit on tabs.

  4. When everything is ready, click Submit. Each tab is sent as a separate prescription and uses one token. You will see a confirmation listing the SCID and delivery method for each.

Editing and removing tabs

  • Switch between tabs to edit each prescription independently – your work is kept per tab until you submit or remove it.

  • To remove a tab, hover over it and click the small X icon. Other tabs are unaffected.

Good to know

  • You can mix PBS and Private medications – they are sent as separate scripts.

  • You cannot mix paper and electronic in one session. Ticking Create Paper Script on any tab converts all tabs to paper.

Note: Multi-script means several scripts in one visit – it does not mean several medications on one script. That is not permitted under Australian electronic prescribing rules.
